Auburn Old Town Gallery in Auburn, California is an artists' cooperative. Established in 1995, the Gallery features the works of 60 local artists who explore a wide range of media. Visitors to the Gallery can buy original artwork directly from the artists. The Gallery is located at 218 Washington Street in the heart of historic Old Town Auburn, in the old livery stable building, next to Bootlegger's restaurant. Click here for a map and directions. The city of Auburn, in the foothills of the Sierra mountains, was founded during the Gold Rush of 1849. Now you can find new treasures in Auburn Old Town Gallery. Come and visit our wonderful Gallery and wander around Old Town Auburn for a taste of history.

Works include pastel, oil, and watercolor paintings, etchings, pen and ink drawings, pottery, ceramic sculpture, jewelry, woodcarvings, photography, blown and fused glass, painted silk, hand-woven scarves and shawls and
decorated gourds.

Each artist is required to work at the gallery 8 hours a month so when you shop at the Gallery you will have the opportunity to talk to one of the artists and learn of their techniques.

All the Gallery artists are accomplished in their own field; some are nationally and internationally known and many have won awards for their works.

HOURS:
The gallery is open daily from 10 am - 6 pm and evenings until 9 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The History of the Gallery:
In the fall of 1995, Nikki Totten-Mack and her husband, Merv Mack, dreamed
of opening an art gallery in Auburn, California featuring the work of local
artists. Several local artists joined them to establish the Old Town Gallery of Fine Art. This small group put in many hours of hard work, and none worked as long and hard as Nikki and Merv. The Gallery had its grand opening in November 1995. A major expansion in 2005 nearly doubled the Gallery's space. Three of the founding members of the Gallery are still active, Dorene Kidd, Nancy Foster, Polly Roberts and Cherie Danzer. In the years since its opening, our members have poured their hearts and souls into making our Gallery the success it now is.
